Asiatic Lions are slightly smaller than African Lions and normally live in prides, but with less than 350 left in the wild, they are becoming extinct.
The surviving Asiatic Lions in the wild are restricted to an area in India known as the Gir Forest National Park, but there are plans to establish a second population of wild Asiatic Lions at a wildlife sanctuary in India also.
